Unit 5: Working to a Brief in the Creative Media Industries Unit  Aim and purpose This unit aims to take the learner through the whole process of working to a brief from initial negotiations, through the process of developing and realising ideas in liaison with the client to final self-evaluation on completion of the work. Unit introduction A good deal of work in the media industries, especially in the case of small to medium size companies and freelancers, is done to a brief for a client. It is, therefore, vital for entrants to the industry to understand the requirements of working to a brief, whether one negotiated by a company or individual with a client, or one set as a competition.
